A British Army Northumberland Fusiliers cap badge, constructed from brass (gilding metal) in the form of a flaming grenade. The central ball features a raised circular medallion depicting St George slaying the dragon within a circular band. The band bears the regiment title NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. The reverse is fitted with a long vertical brass slider for attachment to a service dress cap or Glengarry. This pattern of badge predates the regiment being granted the Royal prefix in 1935 and is consistent with Great War period issue.
